Important Information Regarding Prop 65

This provides a helpful overview in how Office Solutions is addressing Propositon 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. This law is intended to protect California citizens and the State’s drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals. It requires businesses to notify consumers in California about the potential exposure to a listed chemical in the products they purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. The notification must be in the form of “clear and reasonable warnings.” Changes to the safe harbor warnings and mode of transmission will be effective on August 30, 2018.

  • Partnering with suppliers to ensure affected products are labeled with updated clear and reasonable warnings. This includes adding specific messaging on OfficeSolutions.com to those products that contain potential exposure, as referenced in the following examples:
